According to the latest EUROSTAT-data available (2012) Lower Austria ranks among the top-regions concerning low unemployment rates (total unemployment: NÖ: 4,1 %, EU-27: 10,4 %; Austria 4,3 %).
Lower Austria's economic growth figures, expressed in gross-value-added, have been quite impressive and have put the region in the top range of the league table of the Austrian provinces: growth of 27.0 % in the period 1995-2003 (compared with 22,3 % for entire Austria)
